History

In 1975, Richard Wernekinck sold his first wool. There was an orchard on his parents’ holiday farm. Sheep were chosen to mow the grass and that is how he got his wool.

The demand for natural products was on the rise at that time and Richard Wernekinck naturally entered the wool trade.

He started his wool wholesale business in Delft. After a number of locations, the office has now been located in a unique building on Hugo de Grootstraat for more than ten years.
Over the years, the range has expanded with all kinds of knitting yarns, carded wool and an extensive collection of specialties: Jute, Flax, Mohair, cashmere, camel hair, silk, etc. The collection is unique in the world: All wool products are still always 100% wool.
While other companies have started adding synthetic fibers to their products for price reasons, Richard has always remained loyal to pure wool in order to continue to offer products of the highest quality.

From wool to wool felt

This company has created a specialized wool felt wholesaler with only wool felt, still made from 100% wool: HOLLANDFELT.

In recent years, wool felt has become increasingly attractive and our wool felt collection continues to expand every year: more than 100 colors, thicknesses from 1mm to 20mm, all high-quality wool felt made from 100% wool.

After all these years, the demand for natural products is now (again) very high. We depend on our customers and the trends that are going on. In addition to our regular range, we try to move with new colors of wool felt, more thicknesses and other wishes of our customers.
In addition to 100% wool, we also strive to make our products as ecological and sustainable as possible. Behind the scenes we are always actively looking for opportunities to see how we can make the entire line from sheep to the end product more sustainable. Consider incorporating recycled wool felt into our collection, investigating the possibilities of GOTS quality marks, etc.

All orders are prepared, cut to size and packaged for the customer from Delft. We keep almost everything in stock as standard and receive new material from our factory every week. Everything, from the administrative processing of orders to sealing the packaging, is done by a team of 5 employees. This keeps the lines of communication short within the company, allowing a smooth distribution process to be maintained.
