When at least 3mm thick HOLLANDFELT can be used to enhance acoustics. Sound absorption can reach 0,56α with 3mm thick woolfelt, 0,82α with 5mm thick woolfelt and 1,03α with 10mm woolfelt. Thanks to this and other qualities, like insulating and dirt repellent, woolfelt is very well suited as acoustic wallcovering
We advise our special glue to glue woolfelt on walls. This dispersion contact adhesive has a very low VOC-emission. More information about felt glue can be found here
Woolfelt can be glued directly onto walls like wallpaper. To do this the glue should be applied to the wall with the enclosed structure roller. The woolfelt should be applied directly to the wet glue. After placement the woolfelt should be rolled directly with a solid rubber roller.
with a surface of stucco, plaster, stone or wood panels the glue can be applied without a primer. You can ignore cracks and holes in walls, but there should not be any humps on the surface.
When the total of your project consists of more than one breadth of woolfelt, you should place them alternately up and down (see fig. 1).
fig 1.
Up to a thickness of 2mm: cut twice. Place joint-to-joint over 2mm thickness. (see fig. 2): When the first strip is placed, place the next one in the wet glue and push it against the first one until there is no seam left.

We advise you to apply woolfelt on walls with two people because of the size and weight of the material. Warning! Glueing thick woolfelt on walls that overhang can cause problems due to the weight of the material.
If you decide to use our woolfelt as wallcovering it is wise to contact us first about the possibilities.
